Banana Bread
Vegetarian
Banana bread is one of the easiest and shortest things to make (considering) and it's also incredibly tasty! I always make this when there's a spare over-ripe banana that no one really wants to eat. The super sweetness of the banana really comes through in this recipe.
Super easy and good for beginners!
Apple Crumble
Vegetarian
It is surprisingly difficult to find an apple crumble recipe that doesn't have ingredients that I don't particularly like or respond well to. Some are too sweet or don't really have much flavour. I am glad to say that with a few minor alterations to a few different recipes, here is the result!
A tried and tested recipe with friends and family guaranteed to round off any meal with a bang!
Macaroni Gratin
Meat, Vegetarian
Macaroni Gratin is a dish that has a few components but once you get the hang of it, is simple to make! The Japanese version is slightly different from a western style macaroni gratin. What I love about it though is that you can just place it in the middle of the table and enjoy it together with friends and family! You can have it on its own or with a side of salad.
Feel free to go crazy with the cheese too!
Japanese Potato Salad
Gluten-free, Vegetarian, Dairy-free
This potato salad is my go-to side dish anytime I want to impress friends with something delicious and maybe different from what they're used to. It's a staple in my family and we normally serve it alongside chicken katsu, rice and miso soup.
Incredibly easy to make and with very few ingredients!
Chocolate Mousse
Gluten-free, Vegetarian
Chocolate mousse may sound difficult but I promise that you too can make this delicious treat! This recipe is a family favourite and definitely something you can whip up to impress your friends.
It's a long wait to let the mousse set in the fridge but I promise it's worth it!
